Thomas Lemley Gayle, of Hendersonville, age 70, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday, June 19, 2019 following a long illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Edward Gayle, and mother, Mary Katherine Lemley. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Judy Gayle, daughters Andrea (Rik) Hess, Amanda (Derek) Salter, step children Tony (Dana) Lewis, Andy (Melissa) Lewis, Anitra Lewis, fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and by his brother Jimmy.
Tommy was born in Nashville on July 26, 1948 and grew up in the Nashville area. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was knowledgeable about many things, and loved to “tinker” with and fix just about anything, from cars to computers and electronics. He never met a stranger and his larger than life personality and hearty laugh could fill any room he entered. His presence will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 1150 S. Dickerson Rd., in Goodlettsville, on Friday, June 21, from 4-8pm, and Saturday, June 22 from 10am to 2pm, with services following at 2pm officiated by Mike Trotter and Corlett Jaggers
