Tomiva proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he spent his life building a legacy of craftsmanship and love. Gifted with a remarkable ability to learn and master any skill, Tomiva spent his days building, hunting, fishing, golfing, and perfecting his archery. Above all, he always put his family first. He had a special bond with his grandchildren and was deeply loved by all who knew him.
Known as the family’s “MacGyver,” Tomiva was a knot-tying extraordinaire who could fix absolutely anything. His workshop was always filled with creative projects and clever solutions, each a reflection of his curiosity and ingenuity. Those who knew him best will remember his quiet nature, thoughtful words, and his ability to teach through calm, intentional conversation.
Tomiva’s heart belonged to his sweetheart and wife, Lila King of Nashville, Tennessee, to whom he was undeniably devoted. His life was lived for her, and their love was the cornerstone of his world.
He is survived by his wife, Lila King; his son, Ty King and wife Anna of Rogers, Arkansas; his daughters, Cheryl White and husband Kellye White, and Terri Quintana and husband Fredrick Quintana, all of Nashville, Tennessee. He was lovingly known as “Grandaddy” to his grandchildren Krista Ordonez (Reggie), Kacie Kyle (Scott), Jacob Howard (Ashlea), Tyler King (Jori), Braden King (McKayla), Mallory King, Mickey McIntyre, and Lyle McIntyre; and great-grandchildren Lauryn and Christian White, Lila and Averie Ordonez, Colby, Kade, and Keegan Kyle, Maebri and Sutton King, Landon and Presley King, and Kaige Waldrop.
He was preceded in death by parents, Johnny and Tomiva King Sr., his brother, Rex King, and grandson, Roby White.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a garden service at 1:00 p.m.
