William Lamont Haislip, age 77, passed away Friday, April 23rd, 2021. Lamont was born in Nashville, Tennessee on January 24th, 1944. Lamont is preceded in death by his parents, W.L. and Dora Haislip. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kay Haislip, his two daughters, Maria Tate and Lisa (John) Keathley, his four grandchildren, Emily (Bryan) Brown, Stefanie (Cody) Morgan, Kyle Keathley, and Nolan Keathley, and his great granddaughter, Finley Brown. He is also survived by his sister, Grace (Luther) Wicks and brother, Jack Haislip and many devoted nieces and nephews.
Lamont graduated from Isaac Litton High School in 1962. He was a member of the Isaac Litton Marching 100 Band and was honored to march in the Rose Bowl Parade. He completed his college education at Middle Tennessee State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 1970. Lamont spent the majority of his career working in Information Technology. He retired from Alcoa Fujikura in the late 90s. Lamont was a long-time member of Millersville Church of Christ. He enjoyed traveling with his family, working with his hands on various types of projects, and watching old television series. Lamont was a wonderful Husband, Dad, and Pawpaw and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on April 26th, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. A Graveside Service will be held on April 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens and will be officiated by Keith Hagewood and Doug Hagewood. John Keathley, Kyle Keathley, Nolan Keathley, Bryan Brown, Cody Morgan, Mike Clark, Curtis Redding, and Scott Redding will serve as pallbearers.
