He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 58 years, Norma Wright Jeffcoat, his beloved mother, Edith Hale Jeffcoat Keef, and his father, Lou Jeffcoat.
A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Jeff served his community as a police officer with the Metro Nashville Police Department and retired with the rank of Lieutenant. During his tenure with MNPD, he also served as a past president of the Fraternal Order of Police (Andrew Jackson Lodge 5). He also honorably served our country in the United States Army. Undoubtedly, Jeff protected and saved many lives throughout his life.
Family was the center of his life and his family describes him as loving, giving, and selfless. He is survived by his two adoring daughters, Joni Jeffcoat Mitchell (Randy) and Jill Jeffcoat Barr (Philip) as well as his grandchildren, Rachael Mitchell Catherine (Ambroise), Caleb Mitchell, Daniel Barr (Cara), Jeffrey Barr (Caitlynn) and his four great grandchildren: Bailey, Spencer, Zoey, and Cheyenne. He is also survived by two brothers- Joe M. Keef III and Michael Hale Keef (Tricia). He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 am Friday, December 4, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dewayne Tyus officiating. A Military Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Caleb Mitchell, Daniel Barr, Jeffrey Barr, Ambroise Catherine, Daryle Wright, Dewayne Wright, Duncan Cox, and Michael Cox acting as pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be held Thursday 4 pm until 8 pm and Friday 10 am until time of the service.
