Noel was a member of Bethel Baptist Church Greenbrier, TN, and he never failed to witness for Christ. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in November 1969 with the rank of Staff Sargent. He retired after more than 50 years as a Commercial Sign & Advertising Graphic Artist.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon Hooper Swafford; daughters, Sharon Renee Reynolds of Goodlettsville and Suzanne Michelle McGregor (Steve) of Portland; son, Willie Noel Matthew Swafford III of Goodlettsville and preceded in death by his son, Scott Anthony Swafford (Rowena) of Goodlettsville; 5 granddaughters; 4 grandsons; 1 great grandson; 2 great grandbabies on the way; 5 sisters, Alice Faye Dennis, Frances Wood, Dianne Cannon (Buddy), Vickie Farliss (Richard) and Terrie Swafford.
A service will be held 2pm Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastors Ryan Hill and Brandon Pugh officiating. Burial will follow with military honors.
Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday from 2pm until 8pm and Wednesday from 12pm until 2pm at the funeral home.
