Albert Quentin Thomas Jr., 44, of Avondale, passed away December 28, 2012. "Better known as Al to most and nick-named "Lil Mickey" by his immediate family. Al was born to Albert Quentin Thomas Sr. and Fredricka Mae Thomas on September 16Th 1968, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Al and his family settled in Detroit, MI in 1976 where he then attended a variety of schools, but graduated at the age of 17 from Edwin C. Denby High in 1986. Shortly thereafter, Al enlisted into The United States Air Force where he traveled the world and made the military a life-long career serving 24.8 years. Al retired as a Master Sergeant in April of 2011. Al's favorite hobbies included cooking, motorcycling, dancing, playing chess and dominos. Al will be remember for his famous baked beans, deep fried turkey, outlandish remarks (due to his lack of brain to mouth filter). Al had one of the Utmost sarcastic and jovial sense of humors and let’s not leave out how EXTREMELY competitive he was. Let’s just put it this way, Al, wouldn't even allow a four year old to win a competition against him. Al was a fountain of knowledge and gave the best advice in every situation. He was truly loved by everybody he came into contact with and that smile is sure going to be missed. Al leaves behind his wife Senovia D. Thomas, 2 daughters Jasmine M. and Brandy M. Thomas, 1 son Logan Quentin Thomas, 3 Step-children Tommy M., Tamira M. & Tamia M. Davis, Mother Fredricka M. Thomas, Siblings: Viveca, Cedric, Charolette and Michael Thomas and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceding Al in death is his father Albert Quentin Thomas Sr. and his eldest sister Felinda Summerville. A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:00 pm. Memorial services will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm Sunday, January 6th at Thompson Funeral Chapel. Condolences can be sent to www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.
