Allan C Severance (MSG, US Army Retired) passed away November 4, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was born Aug 16, 1935 in Olympia WA to Henry and Hazel Severance. Allan served in the Army during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Kay Gulley, and they raised their family on the Oregon coast. There they ran their own businesses, Coast-Comm and Ra-Comm. In 1969 they moved to Richland,WA where Allan went to work out on the Hanford Reservation. Allan enjoyed a rich and adventure - filled life. He enjoyed time in the Army Reserves, flying, hunting and amateur radios. He was a member of MARS and had recently received his license in Arizona.
Allan is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Dwayne) Carnes, Julie (Don) Cox, and his son, Scott (Teresa). He had nine grandchildren, Justin, Kerri, Grant, and Tara Carnes, Travis and Shelly Strege, Kristi Strege-Powers and Stephanie and Michael Severance. He also had three great grandchildren, Kenny, Cash and Kaylee. He is also survived by his brother Bob (Barbara) and sister-in-law Barbara (Lowell) Engebretson and brother-in-law, George Buchanan and many nieces and nephews. He was loved by all and will be missed.
Services will be held at National Memorial Cemetery with full military honors on November 26, 2010 at 1 pm. A commitment service will also be held on December 11, 2010 at 11 am at Desert Lawn Memorial Park at 1401 S. Union in Kennewick, WA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Premier Hospice in Phoenix, AZ.
