Annie Louise Larson, Sept 24, 1931 - July 9, 2014- Annie passed peaceful with her family and a close friend by her side. Annie was born in Pollock South Dakota to Lily and Wigle Pekema. She was the fourth and only girl in the family. It was said her laughter echoed through the marble halls of her High School, Ferndale High in Ferndale Washington. Annie served her country as a Department of Defense employee for 30-years; 10 of those years working as a contract administrator for the Minute Man Transporter Erector for ICBM’s. In later years Annie loved to spend time with her family. She also made friends at a drop of a hat and never met a person she didn’t like. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She found good in all people. Annie was a good wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a good friend and neighbor. Annie loved to laugh. She loved animals, especially her beloved Shotsie. She loved to travel and was a world traveler. She lived in Japan for a short time. She loved to drive fast especially in her 96 Corvette. Annie corresponded with family members in the Netherlands and was very proud of her heritage. Annie is preceded in death by her parents Lily Pekema and Wigle Pekema, brothers Johnny, Andy, and Fritz Pekema. She is survived by her husband Ken, sons Rick, Steve and Kenny, daughter-in-law Ami, grandchildren Nicole, Megan, and Jacob. Great-grand children Ashton and Caleb and her good friend / granddaughter, Amanda Szolwinski. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, July 14th at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S.
