Betty Jane Hanson

Betty Jane Hanson, known as Jane to family and friends, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025 after a long illness. Jane was born on March 7, 1942 in Arkansas and moved to Avondale Arizona with her family when she was young.

Jane graduated from Agua Fria High School then went to work for the phone company. She met the love of her life, Marvin, while he was stationed at Luke Air Force Base. They were married in 1962 and relocated to Marvin’s hometown of Weed California in 1963. Surrounded by the loving Hanson family, they raised three daughters, Sheri, Sandi (Mike) Cimino, and Sue.

After being at home and raising her daughters, Jane worked for Weed Elementary School, first as a reading aide and retiring as cook/baker in the cafeteria. In addition, she worked as a relief dispatcher for the Weed Police Department.

Jane is survived by her 3 daughters, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Jane was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, her parents, Dicie and Hayden, her mother- and father-in-law, Ann and Herb, her sister Brenda, and her brothers Doug and Danny.

Jane’s family would like to express deep gratitude to the nurses and staff at Stillwater Hospice in Phoenix, AZ for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided.
