After high school, where she was a drummer in marching band, with $100 Bea moved to Arizona with a friend, a fortuitous decision. Soon a chance outing to Sciots dance hall brought the love of her life, Lou, a recently returned Navy man. They built a happy life together. Raising three children, Bea volunteered for many of their activities including DeMolay, Girl Scouts and Job’s Daughters. With family they built a cabin near Kohl’s Ranch. Later Lou and Bea built and ran cabins, Deer Springs Inn, near Clay Springs and were real estate agents at Century 21, Show Low. They were members of White Mountain UMC and Christ Community UMC, Avondale, and volunteered at food banks for both.
Family was always the most important. Beulah is predeceased by her much beloved husband, Louis, and all of her siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Amy, Stephen and Patricia (Roy) Schuler; grandsons, Brandon and Ryan, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will take place at Thompson’s Funeral Chapel, Goodyear, on November 20, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Special Olympics or St. Mary’s Food Bank.
