Everine Elaine Bradshaw was born January 16, 1920, on a farm in Emmet County, Iowa, the daughter of Luella (Quastad) and William Reid. She graduated from Maple Hill High School, obtained an Associate Degree from Waldorf College, a Bachelor’s Degree from Augustana College, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Minnesota, Mankato Campus.
She was an educator all of her life and taught in the Dolliver, Spirit Lake, and Estherville Schools as well as in the Writing Center of the Scottsdale Arizona Community College. She was instrumental in the organization of the Estherville Christian School and superintendent there for 12 years. She was the Sunday School superintendent at Estherville Lutheran Church and was a long-time leader of the Estherville Community Ladies Bible Study group, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. After spending most of her life in the Emmet County area, she moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1999 then later moved to Peoria, Arizona in 2002. She passed away on January 11, 2021.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, and two husbands, Perl Rost and Leo Bradshaw. She is survived by her sister Berneice Johnson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Two sons: Edward Rost of Glendale, Arizona, and James Rost and his wife, Joan of Ames, Iowa; two grandchildren, Alison Walker and her two children, J.D. and Abby, as well as Daniel Rost of Austin, Texas.
She will be laid to rest next to her second husband Leo Bradshaw in the Eastside Cemetery.
Due to the Corona Virus pandemic, there will not be a church or graveside service in either Arizona or Iowa.
