Camille Hammond

Camille spent her early childhood in Manhattan before her family moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she was raised. She graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in June 1965. On September 28, 1968, Camille married the love of her life, John "Jack" Hammond Jr. Together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. They made their home in Brooklyn for many years before relocating to Goodyear, Arizona, in 2011.

Camille was a devoted and loving mother to her three children: John, Robert and Christine. She dedicated herself to raising her family with unwavering love, strength, and care.

She was also a proud and cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren: Max, Dylan, Jason, Decker, Katherine, John, and Nicholas. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she loved each of them with all her heart.

Camille will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her strength, her kindness, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished forever. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.

She is survived by her two sons, John (Laura) Hammond, Robert (Connie) Hammond and a daughter, Christine (Steve) Hopple, a brother, Robert Benvenuto and seven grandchildren.

Camille was preceded in death by her husband, John Hammond; brother, Joseph Benvenuto and her parents, Nicholas and Sadie Benvenuto.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear from 10:30 am until the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm. Burial will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
