She was born to the late Carl and Helen Hegi, May 6, 1942. Carlene attended Buckeye Union High School, Class of 1960 and received a MA from University of Phoenix in 1992. She married the late James F. Warner in 1980.
Carlene retired as Division Vice President of Human Resources from Belden in 2003. She had started with Western Electric in 1968 as a factory associate and was continuously promoted throughout a long career to Human Resources Manager and moved with its subsidiaries and spin-offs as a Vice President.
After retirement, she volunteered for many years with Channel 12 Call for Action. She also pursued interests in genealogy, arts and gardening. She had become a Master Gardener and maintained a cactus gardening blog. For the last few years, she also cared for her late husband, Jim.
Carlene is survived by her children: Chuck Chesser and his wife Vicki of Denver, CO and Heidi Rybar and her husband Ray of Camp Verde, AZ; stepdaughters Christine Pinkston and Lorri Warner of Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by her grandson, August Chesser; her sister, Margaruite Rains and brothers, John Hegi and Carlton Hegi; her nieces Cheryl Swafford and Cheli Astraus and nephew Randy Killman.
A visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 12th at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ.
