He was a proud man and a good man. He was known for doing anything he wanted to.
He met his future wife, Cindy, at college in W. Virginia. His fraternity and Cindy's sorority went out one night. When they sat across from each other, Carroll looked at Cindy and said, "I'm going to marry you someday".
It was almost as if he could see the fun and travel they were going to share for the 57 years they were together.
Carroll traveled the world for work and was promoted every 2 years. He and Cindy moved about 20 times, including all up and down the east coast.
He was a man of integrity and provided a wonderful life for his wife and daughter.
He loved his family so much and would speak of his mother all the time.
But someone else also held his heart. That was Little Miss Chloe Chanel, the family dog. Cindy would laugh and say that he loved Chloe Chanel the most, then his Mom, his daughter and finally, Cindy.
When Carroll retired from the chemical company BASF, he was so well-known and well-liked, they threw six parties for him. He was no nonsense at work, but he was fair and highly admired by his co-workers.
One of his favorite sayings was, "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
He just wanted everyone to slow down, and have peace and kindness in their hearts.
His passing has left a void that can never be filled.
His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alzheimer's research.
