

During his life Chris was an athlete, pilot, Air Force Captain, High School and Community College teacher, mechanic, Operating Engineer's Union member, Creator of Technology Manager for the General Motors Good Wrench Automotive Training Program. These are just a few of his accomplishments.
While attending Van Nuys High School from 1959-63 Chris held titles and set records in Track and Field, Swimming and Football. As the fullback for the Varsity Football team, he was the All-City leading scorer during the 1962-63 season. He maintained records in Track and Field as well and ran in the 1963 Olympic Expositions in the hurdles, showcasing all the top a High School athletes in the area.
In his spare time Chris hung around the Van Nuys Airport learning to fly a Cessna 150. He acquired his pilot's license at the age of 17 in 1962.
He served in the Vietnam War as Captain of the flight line. He was in charge of refueling and rearming operations for the Air Force squadrons at Clark AFB in the Philippines.
Chris was a fierce competitor into his 70's. In retirement, he created the therapeutic swimming program at his residence in Sun City. He used that as a launching pad to rekindle his competitive swimming glory, entering in Statewide, Regional, and International competitions with one single objective "beat the Russian!!" which he did in 2016-17.
Chis is survived by his caretaker daughter, Kim, and two sons Scott and Todd. Three Grandchildren, Justin, Garrett, and Phoebe. 2 Great Grandchildren, Andrene and Elliot.
