David John Blundell, 50, of Avondale, Ariz., passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Somerville, New Jersey. David resided with his wife Irene in Avondale, Arizona. David was a proud patriot. He served as a MSgt in the Air Force, deploying in many capacities in many locations around the world. Following a 20 year career in the Air Force, David worked as a technical writer and as an adjunct professor. He was most recently employed with CAE and Gateway Community College.
David had a passion for friends and family, and his love for the people in his life was a more accurate and enduring testimony to his character than the many prestigious awards and acknowledgements from his lengthy career. He was also an avid collector, an enthusiast for art and antiques and fine furniture.
David is survived by his loving wife, Irene; a daughter, Jessica Stewart; sons, Joe, Josh, Chris; grandchildren, Aspen, Wiatt, Dante; one sister, Sherri Kennedy; and two brothers, Gregg and Jack; and his companion always by his side, Mocha.
A visitation will be held from 1pm, service at 2pm, on Friday, December 21st at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd in Goodyear, Ariz.
