Dolores J. Oglesbee

It is with profound sadness that our mother, Dolores Jean Gilliland Oglesbee was called to Heaven at the age of 91. Dolores was born to the union of Otto Gilliland and Sylvia Frampton on April 18, 1935, in Kenesaw, Nebraska. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on July 29, 2026, after many years of health issues.

She was one of six children and graduated from St. Charles (Iowa) High School in 1953. She married Gerald Forrest Oglesbee of Winterset, Iowa, in 1954. They had a loving marriage and enjoyed many summers camping with the kids when they were young. She enjoyed watching all the kids and grandkids grow up and teaching them the family baking recipes that she learned as a child. During her lifetime she was a mother to three children, worked in the medical field for several years. (and has been a wealth of knowledge for years). She was also a Broomfield Colorado Lion’s member for 15 years.

Dolores was a beacon of love and strength. As a devoted mother to Deborah, Karla and Jerry, instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience and compassion. Her unwavering support and guidance shaped their lives in countless ways.

She is survived by her children; Deborah Hill (Kevin) of Goodyear, AZ, Karla Brandenburg of Buckeye, AZ and Jerry Oglesbee (Kathy) of Eugene, OR. and grandchildren; Scott Ulrich (Sheila) of Hartington, NE, Joe Brandenburg (Kellie) of Broomfield, CO, Ryan Brandenburg (Sarah) of Goodyear, AZ, DeVere Hill of Goodyear, AZ, Kelsey Oglesbee (Chad Hoagland) of Mead, CO, Kourtney Oglesbee (Charles Borin) of Thorton, CO, Colton Oglesbee Lafayette, CO, great grandchildren; Cassidy Ulrich, Kyler Brandenburg, Bryce Brandenburg, Jackson Brandenburg, Memphis Ulrich, Maddux Ulrich, Morgan Brandenburg, Aydian Blatter and Avrey Hoagland. Siblings; Darlene McKinney (Larry) of Blue Springs, MO, Ed Gilliland (Mary) of Plattsburg, MO and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Oglesbee, and parents, Otto and Sylvia Gilliland, brother Marion Gilliland, and her sisters Audrey Smith Wilder and Anna Marie Martin

Though she may no longer be with us, Dolores’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear Mom. You will be deeply missed.

Burial will be held at a later date in the St Charles, Ia. Cemetery.
