It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Emma Freeman, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on August 17, 2024 at the age of 61. Born in Manila, Philippines, Emma Donor Freeman immigrated to Hawaii with dreams of a brighter future for her family with her beloved husband, Bobby Freeman. Through unwavering hard work, a love for food, and a heart full of kindness, she built a life that reflected the values she cherished most: family, determination, and generosity.
As a first-generation immigrant, Emma faced the challenges of a new country with unwavering courage. She poured her heart and soul into raising her children in Hawaii and Arizona, instilling in them the importance of resilience, integrity, and compassion. Her guidance and tough love laid the foundation for their successes, a testament to her strength and dedication as a mother.
But perhaps the most profound way Emma expressed her love was through her incredible cooking. Her kitchen was a place where love was the main ingredient, and every meal was a celebration of family. From the simplest dish to the most elaborate feast, her food was a source of comfort and connection for all who knew her. Emma never hesitated to share her love through food, bringing people together around her table for silly jokes, big laughs, and a little teasing that always resulted in a big hug.
Her warmth, sweetness, and generosity will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of her surviving children Ernest, Stephanie, Michael, Therese, and Gabby; her grandchildren Maleia, Daniel, Alenah, Carter, Benjamin, Elijah, Sophia, Eloise and her husband Bobby. They will carry forward the lessons of love she so graciously taught. We know that her eldest son, Kevin, is by her side in heaven.
A service to honor Emma's life will be held on September 21,2024 at West Valley International Church at 1pm.
May her memory be a blessing and her love continue to nourish us all.
