Enedina R. Valenzuela (Netty) of Avondale peacefully passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 80. She was born on November 8, 1945 in Taft, Texas to Marcos C. and Santos R. Riojas. At four years of age she was moved to Avondale, Arizona in 1949.
She attended Avondale Elementary and graduated from Agua Fria High School in 1963 She married David Astorga and had 2 children. She married Alejandro R. Valenzuela in 1975. She was a vivid seamstress, most of her working career was at a sewing factory (Beam) as a supervisor. She then worked and retired from Agua Fria High School.
She loved making clothing for her children and youngest siblings. She mended clothing for the entire family and the Agua Fria sporting uniforms. She made Halloween costumes every year for family members (winning costume contests).
She was a vivid sports fanatic (all things sports). She played semi-pro softball in Sun City and she also played in the Avondale Softball Leagues with her three sisters. She loved music and dancing (boy should cut a rug), movies, and travel.
She really looked forward to the yearly family camping trips to the white mountains. She was a very giving person and the biggest cheerleader for anyone in sports. She had the biggest personality and was the life of the party. She loved volunteering at food banks, second hand stores (The White House) and was a Christmas bell ringer for the Salvation Army.
Enedina was the eldest of 7 siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marcos C. and Santos R. Riojas; and her grandson, Nathan Ramos. She is survived by her husband, Alejandro R. Valenzuela (of 50 years); her daughters, Dina (Astorga) Pacheco, Davina (Astorga) Ramos-Trevino; her grandchildren, Aliena Ramos, Darian Pacheco, Aneas Pacheco; and her three great-grand children, Audrinana Dominguez and Rafael and Jupiter Turkell.
She will be deeply missed. Her family and community will never be the same, but her legacy and her spirit will live on in each of us.
Rest in Paradise.
