

Eugene Leslie Long, a beloved, kind-hearted, loving, humorous, and selfless man who prepared for the future with finances, passed away on August 2, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on March 26, 1944, in Eugene, Oregon, Eugene, affectionately known as Gene, lived a life full of warmth and generosity.
Gene graduated from Napa High School in 1962 and pursued further education in accounting at Napa Community College. His career began with CBS Plywood, where he worked in the yard before being promoted to office administration. After CBS Plywood closed, Gene continued his career at Western Door and Sash, and later at Four Star Windows and Door. Revered by his company, he was entrusted to learn more about the fabrication process from manufacturers. Gene retired from the industry in 2007.
In April 2000, Gene married Norine M Tudor, with whom he had shared a friendship for 54 years. Gene embraced Norine's children, Troy Tudor and Tammara Wooten, as his own. He is survived by his grandchildren, Rachel McCullough, Michaela Wooten, Luc Wooten, and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Presley Wooten. Also left behind are nieces, Karen Stringham, Michele Long, and Katie Long.
Gene had a passion for woodworking and enjoyed remodeling projects around the house. A motorcycle enthusiast, he owned several motorcycles over the years and relished riding his Harley Davidson, participating in organized ride clubs and camping trips. His love for the outdoors extended to camping and fishing excursions. Together with Norine, Gene cherished cruise expeditions, including a memorable 111-day world cruise, and visited destinations such as Alaska, the Caribbean, Mexico, and South America.
Gene was also an active member of the Sierra Road Riders Association, where he shared his love for riding and camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts.
Gene's legacy of kindness, humor, and love will be cherished by all who knew him.
