Frank Villa Garcia, 80, of Avondale passed away October 22, 2010 at home. He was born June 21, 1930 in Litchfield Park, AZ to Alejandro and Maria Garcia and lived in the area all his life. As a kid growing up he excelled in sports and as a result was an avid fan of his grand kids and great-grandkids sports activities. He owned his own trucking company for 15 years, then worked in construction for a few years. Mr. Garcia went on to retire from the City of Goodyear as the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Supervisor.
Mr. Garcia is survived by his daughters Gloria Orozco (Manuel), Gerrie Chacon (Frank), and Aundrea Orozco, his sons Frank and Anthony Garcia, his sisters Alicia Hernandez and Mary Leon, 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death January 6, 2010 by his wife of 60 years Herminia Garcia, and earlier by his son David.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 27 at 9:30am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 539 E. La Posada Blvd., Goodyear, AZ, with a eulogy to begin at 10am and the funeral mass to begin at 11am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale, AZ.
