Gina was born in Murry, UT at Cottonwood Hospital on May 2, 1977 to Darwin and Marcie Johnson. She married John Bacigalupi on July 1, 1999 in American Fork, UT. Together they had three children Scout, Dane, and Owen.
Gina was raised in Heber City, Utah and graduated from Wasatch High school in 1995. After serving an LDS mission in Honduras, she attended college at Utah Valley State where she met her husband, John. Soon after she and John married, they started a family and lived in various states including North Carolina, Nevada, California and eventually settled in Arizona where they lived for the past 19 years. She was fortunate to stay home to raise her children and later worked as a school teacher in elementary education.
Gina took great pride in being a mother and loved her three children more than anything else. She had a unique soul and anyone who knew her recognized her sense of style and creativity. Her home was decorated like an art museum. Gina was an amazing cook and loved preparing meals for her family. Gina somehow knew the most random information and could answer all the Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit questions. She loved music and traveled often with John or friends to see concerts. Her spirit will carry on in all the fun little habits and rituals she developed.
Gina is survived by the love of her life, husband John, and her three adoring children; dad (aka best friend), sisters, Mary Lyn and Kate; and many dear friends and other family. She is preceded in death by her dear mom and grandparents. We love you, Gina!
A memorial service will be held at 12 PM, Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Arizona.
