G.M. “Mike” Osterfeld, 66, of Buckeye, Arizona met the Lord on January 21, 2013. Mike was born on August 24, 1946 in Long Beach, CA to Samuel and Juanita Osterfeld. He grew up in Flagstaff, AZ, and Morristown, TN. He graduated from Flagstaff High School. He earned his Associates in Arts degree in Business, a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, and was a graduate of the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and the Arizona Judicial College. Mike lived a life of service to his country, the state of Arizona, Maricopa County, and the city of Buckeye. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He then served on the Phoenix Police Department, served 22 years as an integral leader and Officer at the Arizona Department of Public Safety, served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, served as the Assistant Chief of Police for the Avondale Police Dept, and then served as the Estrella Mountain Justice of the Peace and the Buckeye Town Magistrate for 16 years. He is survived by his wife Darlene, two daughters Michelle and Rebecca, son David, and ten grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 11a.m. at Desert Springs Community Church, 447 S. Old Litchfield Rd, Litchfield Park, Arizona 85341.
