

Hector Lopez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated servant of the Lord, passed away on February 6, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 79 years old. Hector was born on July 28, 1945, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Miguel Lopez and Leonarda Paniagua.
Hector's journey began in Chihuahua, but his early years were spent in Agua Prieta. In his early twenties, Hector moved to San Luis Rio Colorado, where he met the love of his life, Juanita, at church. They married on December 22, 1968, and spent 56 years together, raising their family with love and devotion.
Throughout his life, Hector was known for his unwavering faith and commitment to serving others. Whether as a director, pastor, volunteer, usher, or teacher, he devoted himself to his community and the church. His heart led him to give of his time and energy wherever there was a need.
Despite the many challenges he faced, Hector worked tirelessly as a custodian to support his family. He brought his wife and four children to the United States, where he provided for them with love and dedication. After retirement, Hector enjoyed hosting yard sales, which allowed him to stay busy, meet new people, and continue to bring joy to those around him.
In 2019, Hector fulfilled his long-held dream of returning to his hometown of San Luis, Sonora, where he and Juanita settled to enjoy their later years.
Hector is survived by his devoted wife, Juanita Lopez; his daughters, Ana Karina Vitela and Diana Patricia Garcia; his sons, Hector Manuel Lopez and Juan Carlos Lopez; his sisters, Rosa Gracia and Nelly Lopez; and his brothers, Abelardo Lopez and Benjamin Lopez. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Hector was preceded in death by his son, Hector Manuel Lopez; his mother, Leonarda Paniagua; his father, Miguel Lopez; and his brothers, Rosendo Lopez and Jesus Lopez.
A Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Blessing Church (3501 W Osborn Rd, Suite 2, Phoenix, AZ 85019). A Funeral Service will follow at 1 p.m.
Hector’s life was a testament to love, hard work, faith, and service to others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
