John Henry Gause, Jr., age 71 of Buckeye, AZ died November 12, 2019, in Buckeye, AZ. He was born January 31, 1948, in Washington, DC to Lucille (Livingston) and John Henry Gause, Sr. John enlisted in the US Army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery under fire. He worked at the National Institute of Health in Washington, DC for 40 years until he retired in 2011. He was a Past Master in the Masonic Pythagoras Lodge No. 9 in the District of Columbia.
Loving and giving, John believed in giving roses to people while they were still alive. He looked out for his family and friends and would often send money if someone was in need. In 2012 he retired to Arizona in order to be near his family. He loved to go to the casino and enjoyed visits to Costco and Sam’s Club where he would flirt with the ladies giving out samples. He was so pleasant that everyone greeted him by name when they saw him coming. He often said that he had many acquaintances and a few good friends. He had a great sense of humor and was a master storyteller. He delighted in sharing his stories even if you had heard them many times before. He was a man of God, served as an altar boy in his youth and attended the Baptist church later in his life. His passing will leave a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his son, Tyrone Gause-Timms and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Gause, Sr. and mother, Lucille Livingston-Gause.
