It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe Contreras, a loving husband, devoted father, father-in-law, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, patriot, and cherished friend to all who knew him.
Joe answered the call of duty during the Korean War, serving honorably as a veteran of the United States Army. Above all else, the most important things in Joe's life were his family and his relationship with Christ. A man of steadfast loyalty and deep faith. He lived every day anchored by his love for the Lord and an unwavering devotion to his household. Known for his warm smile and gentle heart, he led his life with integrity, grace, and unconditional love.
An avid golfer and a wonderful dancer, Joe brought joy and energy wherever he went—especially when taking to the dance floor with his wife, Amparo, and his family. Yet his greatest joy was always surrounding himself with those he loved. He was a truly great husband, an extraordinary father, a welcoming father-in-law, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather whose guidance, quiet strength, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Amparo Contreras; his loving daughters, Antoinette (her husband Todd), Catherine, and Pearl; his extended family of children, son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and all those who held a place in his heart. He is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved son, Joseph, who preceded him in death.
Joe’s legacy of faith, family, and gentle kindness lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He was loved by all and will never be forgotten.
