

Larry was born on February 28, 1947 in Phoenix, Arizona. He grew up in Buckeye, Arizona and later made his home in Goodyear, Arizona. His life was deeply rooted in family, faith and service. He graduated from Buckeye Union High School in 1965.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy, an experience that reflected his strong sense of duty and character. He worked for 30 years at Revlon and then 17 years at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, where he was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic. He was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Palm Valley Church.
He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Rhonda Gibson, and a proud father to his five children Troy, Jason, Brandon, Lindsay and Vanessa. Larry was also the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy. His family was truly the center of his world.
Often described as a walking miracle, Larry faced life’s challenges with incredible strength and grace. No matter what he was going through, he never complained. He met every season of life with faith, patience and quiet resilience. One of his most cherished roles was leading prayers at family gatherings and meals, a tradition that reflected both his deep faith and his love for his family.
Larry was a steady presence, a quiet protector and a source of comfort to those who knew him. He was a hero to his family on earth and will forever be their angel watching over them. His legacy of love, faith and perseverance will live on through the generations he so dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by his father Taylor John Gibson, his mother Edith Caldwell Gibson and his sister Wanda Cross.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Palm Valley Church, Goodyear Campus.
Though our hearts are broken by his absence, we find comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
