Larry Ray Knott

Larry Knott, age 84 years, 5 months and 22 days, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025 at 11:01 p.m. He was born at home December 30, 1940 in Weeping Water, Nebraska to parents Raymond Lucky Knott and Mary Jane (Harter) Knott. He had one brother, Bernard Knott and one sister, Roxanne (Knott) Deloske.

Larry graduated from Weeping Water High School in 1958 and worked at the local quarry until he served in the army from 1963 to 1965. He worked briefly as an Omar Man in Omaha, Nebraska until starting his career as a telephone man for Northwestern Bell. He worked for "Ma Bell" for 25 years and 1 day, starting in house service and finishing as a supervisor where he also worked for AT&T. Following that, he worked for a privately owned phone service company. For almost 25 years during his retirement, he and his wife traveled by RV through 44 states and Canada. Larry was most proud of being a member of the American Legion post in his home town for 60 years.

Larry was united in marriage to Randi Kae Schulz on November 19, 1995. Three children were born to this union. Jeffery Wayne, Larry Allen and Wendy Elaine (Knott) Luhnow. Other family members include, 2 granddaughters (Alisha Diane and Kaytie Susan), one sister-in-law Barbara (Haines) Knott, one son-in-law Charles Luhnow, 1 great grandson, Thomas, 2 nephews, 4 nieces, 16 great- nieces and nephews and 3 great-great nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by parents, grandparents, 4 aunts, 2 uncles, one brother-in-law (Robert Deloske) and one great nephew (Joseph Dickey).

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 27, 2025 in Weeping Water, Nebraska at the American Legion Post, 301 W Eldora Ave, at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will be served.

Larry made many friends over the last 16 years in Cotton Lane RV Resort where a second Celebration of Life will be held in at the event center on December 30, 2025. Time to be determined at a later date.
