Lindsay Eleanor Kendall-Gonzalez passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by the family and friends who loved her deeply after her hard-fought battle with stage IV breast cancer. She was 43 years old.
Lindsay was born on September 29, 1982, in Alameda, California, to Debra Kendall Gorman and Lloyd Kendall. She grew up in Alameda and later lived in Oakland, where she formed many lifelong friendships. Lindsay had a way of making people feel comfortable around her and was everyone’s friend. She had a soft heart, a sensitive spirit, and cared deeply about the people in her life.
In high school, she was part of the French Club, where she built friendships and had the opportunity to travel to Paris, a trip she treasured and talked about often. It was one of those life experiences that stayed with her and always made her smile when she thought about it.
Lindsay loved the simple things that brought her joy. She loved horseback riding and had a special connection with horses. She loved 80’s music and the memories it brought back. When she was younger, she played water polo, and she always carried a quiet strength about her.
The most important role in Lindsay’s life was being a mother and wife. Her son Leonardo was her greatest love, her purpose, and her pride. When Leo was born on October 24, 2018, her world changed in the best way. Shortly after his birth, she moved to Litchfield Park, Arizona, to focus on raising Leo and building a life centered around her family. She loved Leo with everything she had. Anyone who knew Lindsay knew how much she loved being his mom.
Through Leo, she also became part of The Legacy School community, where she built friendships with other parents and families. She valued those connections and the support system they created.
Lindsay worked in healthcare at Concentra, where she helped patients, something that fit her naturally because she genuinely cared about people. After moving to Arizona, she worked in hospitality, where her kindness and ability to connect with others continued to shine. Not long after starting this chapter of her life, she received her cancer diagnosis. She faced it with more strength and courage than most people will ever understand.
To her family, Lindsay was more than a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and niece. She was someone who had been through a lot in life but still had a huge heart. She loved deeply, and she was deeply loved in return.
Lindsay will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her gentle heart, her strength, and the love she gave to the people closest to her. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a beloved daughter and sister, and someone who mattered deeply.
Lindsay will not be remembered for how she became sick. She will be remembered for how she loved, for the son she adored, and for the mark she left on the people who knew her. Her greatest legacy will always be her son and the love she poured into him.
Lindsay is survived by her husband and life partner of over 17 years, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, and their son Leonardo Gonzalez; her mother Debra Kendall Gorman; her father Lloyd Kendall, Jr. and his wife Patricia Schantin-Kendall; her brother Christopher Kendall and his son Alexander; her sister Taylor Evanson and her son Devon; her sister Paige Cruz and her son Dawson; her step-sister Nichole Gorman; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her more than words can express.
She will always be loved. She will always be missed. And she will always be our Lindsay.
A memorial service will be held on April 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Arizona.
