Terri Lynn Wright, age 62 of Avondale, AZ died December 20, 2018, in Avondale, AZ. She was born June 29, 1956, in LaJolla, CA to Larry and Phyllis Alexander. Terri graduated from Bonita High School in 1974. She met her husband, David in 1972. They dated for two years and were married on August 17, 1974. With David working in the aerospace industry, she moved 9 times in her 44 years of marriage. Her love and focus on her family remained constant and she was always ready for an adventure. She was always there for her two boys. Whether it was providing assistance with homework, listening to the problems of the day, or simply making a barricade for GI Joe action figures, Terri was an integral part of her sons’ lives. She was a great cook and made sure that her expertise was passed on to her sons.
Outgoing and friendly, Terri was quick to start up a conversation even with newfound friends. She was selfless and compassionate, always quick to lend a hand when she saw a need. She ran a custom window covering business for 12 years. She was an expert seamstress and loved to sew, embroider, and use her Cricut cutting machine to make personalized cards for her family and friends. She was a collector of glassware, especially Haviland china and also collected Hallmark Christmas ornaments for decades.
Terri is survived by her husband, David Wright, Jr.; eldest son, David Daniel Wright, III; and the light of her life, granddaughter, Emily Grace Wright. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Blake Wright. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, January 4, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ 85338.
