Richard "Rick" Garcia

Richard Garcia, 70, of Avondale, Arizona passed away on June 17, 2026, in Goodyear, Arizona surrounded by family. He was born on March 24, 1956, in Phoenix, Arizona to Henry and Mary Garcia. Richard, known to everyone as “Rick” grew up in Avondale. After graduating from Agua Fria High School Rick went on to join the Navy. He took great pride in his Military Service, and it is something that he always loved sharing his stories about. After the Service he had his daughter Rikki with his former spouse, Mikelyn who he had since remained lifelong friends with.

He worked for Sanderson Ford for many years. After his retirement Rick enjoyed working part time at Frys, bonding over Arizona sports with his daughter, and watching old military films and documentaries.

He is survived by his daughter, Rikki Garcia; sisters, Caroline (Domingo) Ortiz and Sylvia (Alex) Flores; brothers, Henry Garcia and Rudy (Sheila) Garcia; three “bonus” children, T.J., Melody and Harmony and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary and his brothers, Joseph and Michael.
