Rolando served the Town of Buckeye courageously as a decorated Police Officer for the last seven years. He departed from the Department as a School Resource Officer, a detail he fulfilled with great passion. Rolando also served on the Department’s SWAT Team as a Negotiator. During his tenure with Buckeye, Rolando was recognized on numerous occasions with awards and citations for his exemplary performance in various situations.
Rolando started his law enforcement career in 2000 with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office serving as a deputy sheriff, followed by the Surprise Police Department as a police officer. His chosen career of law enforcement began after he was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp, having served four years active duty and six years inactive.
Rolando is survived by his beloved wife, Ana, and two beautiful children, Alec and Aiden.
A viewing will be held 5:30 pm to 8 pm Thursday, May 5, at St Thomas Aquinas Church, 13720 W Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ, with a rosary at 7 pm. Mass services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, at St Thomas Aquinas Church, 13720 W Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ, followed by a graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ.
Contributions/donations for the family are being accepted at Wells Fargo Bank under Officer Tirado’s name via memorial fund.
