Mrs. Shirley Ann Washington-Bray, 71, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on December 28, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on December 7, 1954 in Santa Maria, California to James and Dorothy (Wallace) Washington.
Born in Santa Maria, California, as the youngest of nine children, Shirley’s life was defined by her devotion to those she loved. As a military spouse, she embraced the adventure of traveling the world, though her heart was always centered on the home she built for her family. Shirley was a woman of profound character and fierce loyalty. A protector who served as the steady, constant presence in the lives of her husband, three children, and six grandchildren. A gifted storyteller, she had a rare ability to light up any room with vivid memories. Her legacy lives on in the stories she shared and the family she shielded with her strength.
She is survived by her husband, Hershel Bray, Sr.; daughter, La’Toya D. Bray; sons, Hershel L. Bray, Jr. and Shawnathan D. Bray; brothers, James and Richard Washington and six grandchildren.
