

Born March 4, 1940, in Nogales, she was raised in Los Campos, Camp 50 of Litchfield Park, Arizona, alongside her sisters and brothers after her parents brought the family to Arizona. She later made her home in Phoenix and Avondale. Teresa was a hardworking woman who worked in housekeeping, as a seamstress, and later as a school custodian. She took pride in everything she did.
She loved walking, shopping, cooking for her family and living out her Catholic faith. Sassy, feisty and honest to her core, she spoke her mind and loved fiercely-especially her children and grandchildren. Teresa was also actively involved in her neighborhood, volunteering at the local senior center and caring for friends and neighbors whenever they were in need, she was a loved pillar of the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents Maria Louisa and Francisco Romero, her sisters Irma Castillo and Guadalupe (Lupe) De La Paz and her brothers Frank Romero and Fernando Romero.
She is survived by her children Mary E. Trotter, T. Jay (Marina Galindo) Candelaria and Juanita Candelaria, grandchildren Lorenzo A. Trotter IV, Sofia Galindo Candelaria and Noah James Griffin, her sister Christina Estrada and extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 4, 2026 at 10 AM at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ.
