Victorio Russell Alferos, 76, of Litchfield Park, died October 23, 2013 of natural causes. He was born on January 26, 1937 in Pensacola, Florida to Emiliano Alferos and Jedi Barnes. He served in the US Air Force from September 1, 1956 to February 8, 1960 as a Mapping/Charting Airman. He was an Identification Technician for 40 years with Santa Monica Police Department, Fingerprint Expert with Drug Enforcement Administration in Vista, California. He was voted Employee of the Year with Santa Monica Police Department in 1994. Accomplished photographer, published in Digital Photography magazine in 2003. He is survived by his daughter Terri Lake; sister Anita Sosna; brother Marcus Bacling; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings Emiliano Alferos, Jr., Sandra Lahouchuc, and Eugene Alferos; and son Randall Alferos. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, November 7th at St. Monica Catholic Church, 725 California Ave in Santa Monica, CA.
