Virginia C. “Ginny” Stevens, 83 passed away on January 19, 2013 at West Valley Hospital. She was born February 19, 1929 in Denver, CO to John and Katharine Cunningham. She attended the University of Colorado, where she met Richard B. “Dick” Stevens. They were married on June 19, 1951 in Denver, CO. She raised two sons as a Navy wife during the Korean Conflict. She was a mother and housewife in Casper, WY. Upon her move to Litchfield Park, AZ, Ginny became a founder of “The Posse”. As a grandmother, instilled confidence and independence in her grandchildren. She was an avid golfer and her husband’s co-pilot. She is survived by her son, Doug (Lisa) of Janesville, WI; sister, Betty Rudolph of Denver, CO; brother-in-law, Craig Stevens (Sharon) of Scottsdale, AZ; and she is also survived by her grandchildren: Sarah (Jared) Anthony of West Hartford, CT; SPC David Stevens currently deployed to Afghanistan; Claire (Chris) Acker of Omaha, NE; Anna Stevens and Brynne Stevens of Denver, CO and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Dick and a son, Don. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to St Peter's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, the Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
