Alice Fox Darville, age 93, of Oviedo, Florida passed away due to congestive heart failure on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Oviedo Medical Center. Her daughter, Nancy and son, David, were by her side when she entered into the presence of the Lord.
Alice was the youngest child of Judith and Frank Fox. She was born in Mangrove Bush, Long Island, Bahamas,on February 25, 1932. She married Lester Darville on December 25, 1952, and they moved to Washington, D.C. shortly thereafter.
Their first three children, Nancy, Jeffrey, and David, were born in D.C., with Brian being born in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Alice absolutely loved the change of seasons, and was captivated by the beauty of seeing her first snowfall. Spring was her favorite season and she became an avid gardener. The family continued to live in Virginia until 1978, when Alice and Les moved to Mission Viejo, California where they lived for two years.
In 1980, Alice and Les moved to Plantation, Florida and stayed in the state thereafter.
Alice led an active church life, joining the choir, Altar Guild, and Bible studies. Her faith sustained her and the family through all that life brings. Her love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds. All of her Bahamian nieces and nephews were welcomed by her with the same love.
Alice loved quilting, crocheting, and various word games. She had a very generous spirit and greatly enjoyed gifting friends and family with her beautiful quilts and crocheted throws and such. She also enjoyed visits from our many relatives. Nothing in fact, gave Alice more pleasure than cooking for her family and friends. She loved to cook and never stop experiment with new recipes that would delight everyone's taste buds.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy; sons, Jeffrey, David, and Brian and his wife Sandy; her grandchildren, Carolyn, Joe and her grandson-in-law, Sean.
A viewing for Alice will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at New Covenant Anglican Church, 800 Tuskawilla Rd, Winter Springs, FL 32708. With the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM at New Covenant Anglican Church. Following the funeral service will be a committal service that will be held at 4:00 PM in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734.
