ALYCE D. DROEGE was called to her Lord’s side on Monday, August 22nd, after a long battle with Lupus and finally liver cancer. She was born in Orlando, August 13, 1937, the daughter of Glenn Stephen Datson Sr. and Martha V. Datson who were major dairy farmers in the area that is now Orlando International Airport. She and her husband of 52 years, Fred, have one son, Alan. Her loving contributions of time and energy in such organizations as the "Singing Boys of Orlando", and the "African Violets Society" will be remembered by many. At one time she had a nursery business raising African violets commercially. She was an inspiration to all that knew her, and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Cemetery Rd., Gotha, Fl. On Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00. Alyce will be interred in a graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Park at 10:00 am on Monday, August 29th.
