ANDREW J. DAVIS, born April 22, 1925 in St. Petersburg, Florida to Oscar and Vola Davis. On October 20, 2010 Andrew J. Davis passed away at the age of 85 due to congestive heart failure. He was a long time local business man here in Central Florida. From the mid 1960's to the present day he has owned and operated the local Interstate batteries dealership here in Orlando. Andy, as he was affectionately known was loved by all who met him. His overwhelmingly bright, cheerful and charming personality served him well though his life. From his brilliant smile to his firm hand shake, his honorable actions told everyone he was a gentleman of his word and a friend that can be trusted. Andy served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He returned to St. Petersburg and began his working career and loved to dance every Saturday night at the coliseum. Dancing was always a favorite passed time. Andy joined the Moose Club in 1978 Lodge #766 on Orange Blossom Trail. Andy and his beloved wife Betty danced every Saturday night for the last 25 years. He is also survived by three daughters, Sharon Ostermann, Carol Putnam, Dandy Safko, one son, Jim Davis, stepdaughters, Donna Roberts, Linda Williams, Shirley Stuart, stepson, Glen Stuart and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all of us who loved him and never forgotten by all who got the chance to know him. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 24 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd., Gotha, FL 34734.
