Anthony (Tony) Theodore Eversley passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020, after a battle with metastatic (Stage IV) melanoma. He was 77. Tony was born on January 23, 1943 to the late Joseph and Ione Eversley of Christ Church, Barbados West Indies. Tony received his early education at St Bartholomew Primary School and Unique High School in Barbados. In 1963 Tony immigrated to London, England to work and studied where he received BS in Electrical Engineering. His strong work ethic and desire to take care of his family led to long successful career at Verizon Communications known as AT&T (Bell System aka “Ma Bell”) when he started. In August 1969 he married the late Carmen Brathwaite, and two years later they immigrated to the United States. They settled in Brooklyn and eventually bought a home known simply as “181”. Over the years Tony and Carmen were happy to share their home with a host of family and friends. Tony showed us what it meant to be a wonderful father, grandfather, bother and friend. He was firm in his principles and supportive of others in their endeavors. He encouraged and comforted, but never steered (maybe to some reasonable extent). Tony was always busy – a man in constant motion – but never too busy to share his love of life with those around him. He loved to laugh, especially at himself. He would tease and needle, but with no malice intent. He placed great value on a good joke and was known for his quick wit and outspoken ways. In 2003 Tony and Carmen moved to Orlando, Florida to enjoy their post-retirement years. After moving to Orlando they were able to spend quality time together, and they traveled to many wonderful destinations. Every day of his 50 years of marriage, Tony taught us all what it means to be a great husband. He married the love of his life, his sweetheart. He adored her. He laughed and cried with her. He was dedicated to her totally. We are all blessed to have had Tony in our lives and we will cherish the memories. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Anthony Sealey and Nicholas Eversley. Brothers Vincent Eversley, Trevor Eversley, Courtney Eversley (twin) and John Eversley. Sisters Clareen Allen, Joan Eversley, Myrna Casey, Janette Babb, Jean Jacobs and Joycelyn Nelms. Grandson Reece. Granddaughters Jazarah and Peyton. Daughters-in-law Ava-Marie Sealey and Tonya Lindsey. He will also be affectionately remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, other relatives and acquaintances.

To Anthony, Nicholas and the Eversley family.

Think of him with every calm and quiet morning...
Hear his voice in the whispering wind...
See his brilliance in every glowing sunset...
and you will never be alone...

Hoping that you find comfort in his memory and the strength in those around you.

With our deepest sympathy, Ophnel and Dana Larrier
