On June 16th, 2023, Arthur Lyman Beach (Winter Garden) was called home to his heavenly father. He was 95 years old. Born on October 20th, 1927, in Warren, Ohio; Arthur moved to DeFuniak Springs, Florida at the age of three and lived there until his early twenties when he moved to Winter Garden, Florida for a job with the telephone company. He was a lineman. He worked at the telephone company for 30 years until he retired. While working for the telephone company he met and married the love of his life after only 3 months of dating. Everyone told him it would not last. It lasted for 68 years until December 30th, 2019, when his beloved Martha was called home.
Arthur was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Winter Garden where at one time he served as a Deacon. He was quick witted, quick with a joke and loved with his whole heart. He never met a stranger and always took the opportunity to serve others, even towards the end of his life. He was a loving and kind son, brother, husband, father and Paw-Paw. He was our best friend and will be gravely missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn & Bessie Beach, his stepmother Cressie Mae Beach, his beloved wife of 68 years, Martha Beach, his sisters Geraldine Shoaf, & Catherine Schmieder and his only daughter Pamela Jane Beach (Fogle).
He leaves behind his son in law William C Fogle (Orlando), his two granddaughters Jennifer (Graeme) Lay (Orlando) and Heather (Eric) Shaver (Orlando), his three great grandchildren Lennon Lay (Orlando) and Marley and Mela Shaver(Orlando), niece Nancy Norwood (Winter Garden), nephew Brian Chisolm (Orlando) and many other nieces and nephews.
His funeral arrangements will be handled by Woodlawn in Gotha, Florida.
