On August 24, 1959, a rare and amazing soul was brought into this world. This soul was blessed with two of the most powerful gifts that can be bestowed by the creator. First, he was an accomplished problem solver. He had been given the curiosity to recognize a problem, the imagination to find a solution, and the determination to see it resolved. There were never problems, only challenges to overcome. The second, and even rarer, was the amazing capacity to feel for and care about anyone he meet instantly. His immense ability to love and respect knew no bounds. He used the discipline he learned from attending the Harlingen Marine Military Academy to combine his gifts in a way that allowed him touch the lives of everyone he met. He never met a stranger, his sense of humor could brighten anyone’s day, and if you had a problem he would not only listen, he would help. This man, Arthur Botts, touched the lives of so many, so deeply that his love and compassion will be felt for generations to come. This is why he was, and always will be “Large and In Charge”.
