Mom was awarded the honor of New Smyrna Beach High School Salutatorian, receiving a scholarship to FSU. She attended FSU until she married Howard Bochiardy, a recent WWII veteran and student at UF. They lived in Gainesville , while Howard received his degree in Building Construction. They then moved to Orlando , Jacksonville , Windermere, and Gotha , while Dad pursued his career as an Architect, achieving state and national awards. Mom arranged tours, luncheons, and special events for the spouses attending the Florida architectural events.
After raising their daughters, Mom pursued her own passions. She loved reading, museums, art, history, music, and genealogy. She exposed us to these as much as she could while encouraging us to pursue our own passions. She excelled in gardening and took that passion to training in landscape design and horticulture. She was also president of the Windermere Garden Club, and a lifetime member.
Mom loved to go to the annual Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. She never missed a Friday class that she could’ve taught, but instead wanted to keep herself sharp and to help others. She attended annual horticulture courses at University of Florida , seldom missing a question on her plant identification exams.
Long time members of the Windermere Union Church, Mom accepted a position on the Board of directors after Dad’s passing. A position she held until just a few short years ago. She also enjoyed singing in the choir and greeting on Sundays.
Mom and Dad teamed up to purchase and restore Palm Cottage Gardens , which is now Nehrling Gardens in Gotha .
She is survived by her daughters, Stacey Krick (Nicholas Angelo) of New Smyrna Beach, and Kim Heath (Bonnie Heath, III) of Ocala; Grandsons, Corey and Tyler Krick (Estefani Krick) of Orlando; Great Grandson Ethan Krick, and many wonderful sisters in law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and too many friends to count. Always happy and friendly, Mom never met a stranger, and has left us with many wonderful memories and loads of friends to cherish.
