Ben, our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and teammate will be entertaining the angels now; standing smack in the middle, making them all laugh. In his brief 31 years he accomplished more than most do in a lifetime. He was accomplished in many areas. Most people know he is an incredible lacrosse player and athlete, but there is so much more. He could learn a song on the guitar, play it on the piano, and yet he never took a piano lesson. Ben’s academics were off the charts. He excelled in every subject. He earned college scholarships for lacrosse and academics. He was also an accomplished swimmer. When going into the world of finance he aced the Series 7, the Series 63, and the Series 57 for securities trading in a 15 day time span. Ben was modest and didn't brag about his accomplishments even though there were many. In 2015, in his twenties, he was sent to New York City and then, in 2016, he was transferred to London to trade in the Asian market. But when he landed in San Francisco in 2017, he’d found his home — joining the San Francisco Lacrosse Club, later landing a career with Franklin Templeton, where his manager called him a rockstar and his colleagues were his friends. He was enthusiastic about snowboarding in Tahoe, running five miles a day with his beloved dog, Mila, swimming in the bay or ocean, hiking in the mountains, and hanging out with his friends. His greatest accomplishment is making lasting friendships. He has had enduring friendships since elementary school, friends in other countries, other states, and especially in Orlando. But all the new friends he made in San Francisco have been as solid as those he's known for years. He can light up a room with his sense of humor, even cracking himself up. His energy and zest for life are infectious. You know it's going to be a great day when in Ben’s company. But he was also protective, helpful, supportive, and a generous friend. Ben knew no strangers. He’s never cared what your status in life is, he treated everyone equally. His sense of humor and personality were captivating. His loss is shocking and unbearable but also so unfair. He took advantage of enjoying life to the fullest. We love him deeply and will miss him desperately. But still we are so blessed to have had him in the world for 31 years. Thank you to all who love him as we, his family, love him.
We think Ben would want everyone to be comfortable, casual attire, jeans included in that if you like. Since green is Ben’s favorite color, we're telling people it'd be nice to wear green in his memory if you have any. If not, no worries. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the GoFundMe.
