Bercon Pijeau

Bercon Pijeau, affectionately known to his family as Papi, passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 77. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he leaves behind a family who will carry his memory with love and feel his absence in countless everyday moments.

Born on August 4, 1949, in Jacmel, Haiti, Bercon carried a deep love for his homeland throughout his life. Although he later made the United States his home, built his life here, and planted roots for his family, Haiti always remained close to his heart. One of his favorite places was Raymond les Bains, in Marigot Jacmel, where he especially loved spending his birthdays. Returning there connected him to the country, landscape, and memories that remained an important part of who he was.

Bercon built a life as an entrepreneur in real estate and had a lifelong passion for architecture.

On October 30, 1976, Bercon married Juliana Simin. Their marriage spanned nearly fifty years, a lifetime of shared experiences, family milestones, challenges, celebrations, and memories. As their family grew across generations, he became Papi to those who loved him most.

It is those personal connections that his family holds closest now: the conversations, the time spent together, the laughter, the lessons, and the comfort of his familiar presence. His life cannot be fully captured by dates or a list of names. It lives on in the memories each person carries and in the stories his children and grandchildren will continue to share.

Bercon is survived by his wife, Juliana Simin; his four children, Jean Berson Pijeau, Jean Nickson Pijeau, Shiela Pijeau, and Joanna Pijeau-Gil; and his nine grandchildren: Patrick Martis-Pijeau, Bradley Pijeau, Bianca Pijeau, Laila Pijeau, Nicholas Pijeau, Kevin Pijeau, Mateo Simon Gil, Lucas Erick Louis-Charles, and Esmeralda Gil.

He is also survived by his siblings, Berniel Pigeau, Alton Pigeau, Ermoncier Pigeau, Majorie Pijeau-Mathurin, and Gertha Pigeau, along with extended family and many friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Bernisse Pigeau and Marie Amanie Theodor, and his sisters, Anna Pigeau-Alexandre and Inite Pigeau.

His family is deeply grateful for every prayer, kind word, visit, and expression of love offered during this difficult time.

Papi, we wish we had more time: another conversation, another embrace, another day together. We will speak your name, share your stories, honor your memory, and continue to love you.
