Betty Jean Quinn Gambill
August 16, 1952 – February 5, 2021
Betty Jean Quinn Gambill of Ocoee, Florida has a new residence in heaven as of Friday, February 5th, 2021. Betty was of the Presbyterian faith.
Betty was a 1970 graduate of Fulton High School and the University of Tennessee in 1974. After working her way through school, she was chosen by the K-Mart Corporation to become the first female to enter their management training program. She retired after a long and successful career of 30 years. She then decided she wanted to continue to share her knowledge and skills so she entered full-time employment with the Florida Department of Children and Families where she held a supervisory role. She left full-time employment in 2019 and had been working part-time to help out during the COVID pandemic.
Throughout her life, Betty made many endearing and lifelong friendships. She made an impact on all the lives she touched during her two careers and church activities.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Zeb Gambill, her mother and father, J.B. and Mildred Pierce Quinn, and her brother-in-law, James Seely. She is survived by her beloved son, Matthew Gambill and his wife Katie, along with their daughter, Genevieve. Betty also leaves behind her precious fur-baby, Nebula, who was her constant companion and whom she spoiled rotten.
Betty also leaves behind three brothers and two sisters: James and Margaret Quinn, Eddie and Tammy Quinn, Morgan Quinn, Mary and Melvin Cantrell, and Nancy Seely. Others left to mourn include nine nieces and nephews: Sandra Kelly, David Quinn, Tyler Quinn, Adam Quinn, Kristin Moore, Tara Bailey, and Bradley, Christopher, and Brandon Seely. And three stepchildren: Gerrie Benzing and Robin and Mark Gambill.
