I met Bill as a new member to Zion Lutheran Church. He was one of the first of the congregation to welcome me and my family and tell us more of the church's history. My daughter took to him immediately and they became fast friends. When Bill was still able to visit the preschool at Zion she would come home so excited to tell me all about his visit that day. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Bill at church and am sad that I will not be able to further that friendship. I just wanted his family to know that although I did not know him well he made a very big impression on me and my family and that we will truly miss him. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all and that God is welcoming a true angel into his kingdom.

Bill has been in our family for 44 years and he did so much for all of us.  He opened his home to me and my son while I was completing my education, gave financial support, and helped to care for my son.  He was a giving person.  I know he regularly gave to MDA, St. Jude, Lakota Indian School, and never missed his financial responsibilities to the Church and Church School.  He enjoyed the company of people, especially in the Church, and ate out each Sunday after church with several members.  He also loved animals, having dogs most of his adult life, and ending with approximately 10 cats at present that he fed and cared for every day.  He loved sports. He and my Mom, Julie, were avid bowlers, golfers, and fishermen. They were season ticket holders when UCF began with their football team, and would go to every home game.  Even toward the end, he watched a lot of sports on TV.  I made sure to tell him the day he died about Scott Skiles being the new head coach of the Magic. He was a good man to me and my son, and I will miss him greatly.
