He was born to the late Charles and Shelia May Rollins, March 17, 1934, in Leon, Mason County, WV. Bobby married the late Barbara Elizabeth “Nellie” Carter and had four children, Barbara L. Thomas of Sparta, NC; M. Christine Rollins of Monroe, NC; Robert L. Rollins of Monroe, NC; and Allen C. Rollins of Mount Plymouth, FL. He has many loving grandchildren: fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Bobby and Nellie relocated to Orlando, FL in the 1960s, where Bobby made his living as a mechanic and owned a service station. Bobby was a dear Pop, Pawpaw and friend who never missed a day to influence us on the value of family and a good day’s hard work! In addition to being a small business owner, he worked for Orange Electric of Lockhart for many years, and later built a tire shop, B & R Tires in Mount Dora, FL where he eventually retired. He enjoyed many Sundays at Renniniger’s Flea Market, family travels, and bringing us all together for big family reunions.
Bobby is also survived by two brothers, Ernest W. Rollins of Schneider, IN; Raymond C. Rollins of Orlando, FL; sister Betty L. Young of Maitland, FL; and a former spouse Cynthia M. Rollins of Port Charlotte, FL.
A life well lived, his forever presence will always be with those he loved. The family welcomes friends at a viewing on Tuesday, June 7th from 5-7pm held at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Gotha, FL. Burial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Memorial Park with a family & friends gathering preceding to celebrate his life.
