

Burton Teachout passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at his home surrounded by family in Mount Dora, Florida.Burt was born on January 3, 1928. He was a veteran having served in multiple branches of the military including the Navy, Air Force,and Army National Guard. He also worked for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office as a school crossing guard for many years and was a talented mechanic and woodworker. More than anything, Burt wasa devoted family man. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. Burt was a big man with an even bigger heart whose bark was 1000% worse than his bite. His big laugh was contagious.He had a sharp wit & a clever sense of humor – always quick with a joke often delivered with perfect timing and a mischievous grin and twinkle in his eye. Burt was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marilyn Robinson, his wife Jackie, two daughters, Valerie King and April Kent, and his son-in-law, Ron Treaster. But his legacy will forever be cherished in the lives of those that survive him including his children Sue Treaster, Burton Teachout (Grace), and Michael Teachout; his grandchildren Krista Clark (Wesley), Beth Williams (Ricky), Michelle Miles (John), Cassidy Teachout, Alicia Stonebreaker (Erik), and Chad Treaster (Laurie); his great grandchildren Michael & Ricky Williams, Erica Smith, Carson, Blake & Donovan Stonebreaker, Jayda Treaster, Kelsey & Hayden Clark, Gavin & Gannon Treaster, and Clayton & Madeline Cordell, and his great-great granddaughter Lani Williams.
