

CALVIN D. BUCHANAN, 85, of Orlando, FL (long-time resident of Baptist Terrace) passed away December 9, 2010 at The Commons at Orlando Lutheran Towers. Calvin was born on January 15, 1925 in Lincoln County, NC to the late A.J. & Ethel (George) Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan was a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII in the European Campaign. He was a member of Delaney Street Baptist Church, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Eola Lodge Grand Mason. Calvin sang in a Christian Men’s Quartet, participated in local Scottish Highland Games, and was an avid golfer who enjoyed watching basketball. Mr. Buchanan retired from Coca Cola as a shipping and receiving manager. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Nell B. Wilcox, James D. & Will E. Buchanan and his grandson, William C. Buchanan. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Jane (Hill) Buchanan; son, Robert T. Buchanan; daughters, Sheila B. (Larry) Williams, Constance B. (Bruce) Easterling; siblings; George A. Buchanan, Lewis L. (Iola) Buchanan, Jessie (Harvey) Phillips, Margaret (Jack) Montgomery; grandchildren, Candice J. (Nicholas S. Williams) Buchanan, Cynthia E. (Andrew) Wilkes, Nancy K. Cason, Emily Marie Cason, Karen M. O’Day, Kevin D. (Heather Rohland) Easterling; great grandchildren, Isaiah S. Williams, Mason M. Williams, Joel C. Wilkes, Victoria L. O’Day, Ryan T. O’Day, Joseph W. Easterling, Alaina J. Easterling, Andrea R. Easterling. Calvin was affectionately known as G-Daddy by all of the great-grands. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2010 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. 407-293-1361.
